HARVEST WAVE, A.MCGREGOR-R.MILLER-R.BOURRAINE-T.CACHO
This installation was named as the second prize winner in the 2012 Sukkahville Design Competition in Toronto. Designed as a reinterpretation of the traditional Sukkah (a temporary hut built for use during the week-long Jewish festival of Sukkot), the Harvest Wave Sukkah was inspired by windblown fields of grain and the connection of the sky with earth. The form was designed to provide areas to walk through, sit and lay down while articulating the fins to provide shade in the day but allow views out to the night.
